Position: Vehicle Fleet Manager (VFM)
Nationality: Expatriate
Security Clearance: NV1
Role
The Vehicle Fleet Manager (VFM) is responsible for managing and maintaining the armoured
vehicle fleet including:
1. planning and executing servicing schedule for the Australian Embassy
fleet of armoured vehicles
2. conducting first line safety and maintenance repairs
3. establishing operator maintenance guidelines
4. organising/supervising maintenance training for operators
5. advising on fleet management issues
6. assisting with vehicle registration through relevant channels
7. coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair with external agencies
8. providing quality control inspections
9. forecasting servicing and manage repair, maintenance and fuel
accounts
10. oversee vehicle maintenance contract.
Skills and Experience
The FM must have:
a) at least two (2) years; experience operating in high risk environments
b) relevant qualifications as a mechanic
c) at least five (5) years; experience maintaining armoured vehicles
d) sound problem solving skills and
e) excellent communication skills.
Desirable
a) previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
b) previous in-country experience in a similar capacity and
c) a working knowledge of the local language.
