We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead our team of Enforcement Officers in Bristol.We are a specialist service provider focused on the provision of environmental enforcement services, using the most up to date technology to deliver the most effective solutions to combat environmental crime.
You will supervise, manage and motivate team members daily.
Job purpose-
As Team Leader you be will be the first point of contact for all team members and the client, effective communication and excellent customer service skills will be essential.
The Role:
Reporting To The Operations Manager, Duties Will Include
• To routinely foot patrol streets and public places to enforce environmental legislation and issue fixed penalty notices to offenders who commit criminal offences under environmental legislation. Such criminal offences can include littering.
• To patrol in Bristol City Centre but also covering outer district areas as the contract expands. You will work as a representative of the Bristol City Council as well as our company.
• To manage the Senior Enforcement Officer and the wider Enforcement team.
• Building rapport and interacting with Bristol City Council contacts where necessary.
• Preparing and submitting witness statements and prosecution files.
• Compiling rotas and general administration alongside the Senior Enforcement Officer.
• Compiling reports on performance for the Bristol City Council contacts.
• Working in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Attending court to give evidence when necessary.
• Operating and uploading body camera footage.
• Ensuring all staff are fulfilling the responsibilities of their role and working in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Liaising with the HR team on recruitment needs.
• Assisting in interviewing new recruits and induction training.
• On boarding and induction of new recruits to the Enforcement team.
• Delivering patrol briefings to the team alongside the Senior Enforcement Officer.
• Managing the welfare and discipline of the team with the aid of the Senior Enforcement Officer. • Ensuring that where performance expectations are not met, the appropriate initiatives are implemented by carrying out 1-1 reviews where necessary
• Ensuring all Equipment remains operational.
Overseeing vehicle maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS
• Calm and assertive manner with the ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with people from all backgrounds. • Good observational and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure. • Capable of working in all weather conditions and being mobile (patrolling on foot) for long periods. • Able to motivate and inspire your team to meet both the business and their personal objectives, ensuring the effective performance management of your team through coaching, feedback and support
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
(Training Provided) • Previous experience of Enforcement or similar (Police, Security, Military, Prison Service • Knowledge of PACE, CPIA, RIPA • Conflict Management • Knowledge of Section 9 Statements • Full driving license with access to transport. • People management experience • Ability to work under pressure, you must be adaptable and able to use your own initiative to resolve problems • SIA license and/or DBS clearance
Salary £24,000 p/a (Increasing to £25,000 p/a upon successful completion of probation period
